What joy you gave, from pain so deep;
A miracle in progress, a work of art!
Flesh of my flesh, not quite but still,
You may as well have been.
Goodbye my boy!

Sometimes a year comes and goes,
Lost to the mists of time, forgetful minds and ordinary lives.
But 2014 will always be,
Etched in the mind, carved in the heart!
The year we met you, unforgetable.
Goodbye my boy!

Helpless and lost, fragile and small,
Your inner you submerged under
The debris of another, your mother.
She loves you so much, but she couldn’t be,
What you needed, and so she had to say,
Goodbye my boy!

You grew so strong with us,
In character and dignity, a miracle taking shape;
Right under our noses an answer to prayer,
Down on our knees, God’s people in prayer.
In this you had no choice – a vessel of grace!
Loaned to us, in faith and love,
Goodbye my boy!

Your leaving is your arriving,
An ending here is a beginning there – in God.
Provision all the way, you are deeply loved;
We are glad you invaded our hearts, our lives, our home,
Shattered our routines and wrinkled our eyes,
But our hearts! Oh our hearts are full, so full and glad.
Goodbye my boy, for now, goodbye!
By Richard Matcham aka Gralefrit
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”
Galatians 4:4-7
Thank you. 😦
Thanks Tony.
